Audiences appreciated the insightful documentary on ocean conservation and engaged in meaningful discussions about the importance of protecting our marine environments. Many expressed their enthusiasm for the topic and shared their tips on ocean sustainability, here are some tips to protect the ocean sustainability, especially for sea turtles’ ecosystem:
1. Protect Beaches
- Build away from the beach: Too much construction can damage areas where turtles nest.
- Reduce artificial lights: Bright lights confuse turtles and make it hard for hatchlings to find the ocean.
2. Cut Down on Plastic Use
- Avoid single-use plastics: These can end up in the ocean and harm turtles.
- Join beach clean-ups: Help remove plastic waste from beaches to keep them safe for turtles.
3. Support Turtle Conservation Programs
- Donate or volunteer: Support groups that work to protect turtles and their habitats.
- Join guided hatchling releases: Let experts help with the safe release of baby turtles.
4. Don’t Touch or Disturb Turtles
- Don’t handle hatchlings: It can stress them and affect their survival.
- Keep distance from nesting turtles: Give them space when they lay eggs.
5. Avoid Buying Turtle Products
- Never buy products made from turtles, like jewelry from their shells.
6. Choose Sustainable Seafood
- Eat seafood from sustainable sources that don’t harm turtle habitats.
7. Keep the Water Clean
- Use fewer chemicals like pesticides, as they can pollute oceans and harm turtles.
We plan to host similar movie screenings in the future, focusing on various themes related to environmental awareness and sustainability. We believe that these events not only entertain but also educate and inspire our community to take action to preserve our oceans. Stay tuned for upcoming screenings and join us in making a difference!
