Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro proudly shows its support for local art through appreciation for mural artists. The hotel has become a platform for local mural artists to express their creativity, producing works that enhance the atmosphere and provide a unique and authentic visual experience for international guests. By utilizing empty walls, mural art brings life to the space, creating a distinct ambiance while strengthening the relationship with the local art community.

Each mural displayed carries various themes, from culture to the beauty of Yogyakarta. This creates a different experience for guests staying at Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro. This collaboration involves 10 talented local mural artists, namely Farhan Siki, Anagard, Ismu Ismoyo, Neotrasher, Bigbang K20, Wisnu Aji, Andril Wak Yong, Young Surakarta, DDieno, and Wimbo Praharso.

The idea for this collaboration arose from guest complaints about rooms facing blank walls. In response, the Novotel team held brainstorming sessions. Eventually, the idea of transforming the empty walls into canvases for local mural artists was born. As a result, the previously empty walls have transformed into works of art that enrich the guest experience. Mr. Novi Soesanto, General Manager of Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro, explained, “We turn walls into works of art.” We always support Yogyakarta’s artists.”

Mrs. Pelagia Puspa Agrippina, the Operational Manager of Novotel Suites Yogyakarta, added that the artists were given full freedom to express their vision and mission through their mural works. “We want to bring street art not just to the streets, but also to our hotel. Novotel Suites Malioboro is committed to supporting artists because we are aware that Yogyakarta is deeply connected to art and culture. We want to be part of that effort,” she said.
