*Emping Melinjo is a type of Indonesian cracker made from the seeds of the melinjo tree (Gnetum gnemon). The seeds are ground into a dough and then pressed into thin rounds before being sun-dried and fried.
Emping has a slightly nutty and bitter taste, making it a unique and popular snack or side dish. It is often served as a crispy accompaniment to traditional Indonesian dishes like gudeg, soto, or nasi goreng. It can be enjoyed plain or seasoned with salt, sugar, or spices, giving it either a savory or sweet flavor.
