To promote safety building, Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro promotes The Amazing Safety Race. This activity was held on Friday, September 27 at Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro. It improves employees’ knowledge of using safety tools correctly and efficiently.. Representatives from each department joined the race, creating a fun, competitive atmosphere with a strong focus on safety.

The technical aspect of the race started from the emergency exits around the hotel. It is divided into the north, east, and south areas, extending to the 10/10 Pool Bar and ending at the rooftop. At each checkpoint, participants had to complete challenges that tested their knowledge of safety tools and equipment; consequently, they enhanced their skills in emergency preparedness. Novotel Suites invited the Jogja Fire Department as judges for the event to ensure objective and professional assessments. Scoring was based on participants’ speed and accuracy in using safety and emergency tools.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) organized the race and provided a brief refresher class on fire suppression and disaster management.
The hotel also regularly conducts fire and disaster drills. The goal of this event was to refresh employees’ knowledge and increase their alertness. During the evaluation process, the Jogja Fire Department also demonstrated how to use safety equipment correctly and quickly.

With well-trained staff, the aim is to assist hotel guests in the event of an emergency. Participants showed great enthusiasm in absorbing new knowledge. As a result, Novotel Suites plans to make the Amazing Safety Race an annual event to continuously enhance guest and employee safety.
